Diabetes Prevention Class

Stop Diabetes before it starts!

Understanding carbohydrates is the key to controlling blood sugar. This class will provide you with specific information on which sugars, starches, breads, pastas, rice and cereal actually lower blood sugar, instead of raising it. We will also have a live enzyme demonstration, and several delicious food samples.

You will be convinced that diabetes is avoidable, and nutritious is delicious!

When: Tuesday, December 7th, 2:00 – 3:00pm

Mind-Body Fitness Classes starting September 1, 2010

$10 per class

Prenatal Yoga
A great way to prepare for baby! Yoga can help you to feel more comfortable during pregnancy, and strengthen your body for delivery. Classes will be appropriate for all trimesters. Instructor: Pat Tomczyk, RN, RYT. Wednesdays 12-1pm.

Yoga
Yoga improves strength, balance and flexibility and reduces the body’s stress response. People have been practicing yoga for hundreds of years because it works to improve total health. Beginner, intermediate and advanced students welcome. Instructor: Pat Tomczyk, RN, RYT. Wednesdays 9 -10 am.

Tai chi/Qigong (Healing Movement)
Come learn a system of healing from ancient China that involves gentle movement and breathwork to strengthen and circulate life energy. This leads to better health and a more tranquil mind. Practice can be done standing or seated and is appropriate for people of all fitness levels. Instructor: Pat Tomczyk, RN, RYT. Thursdays 4 - 5 pm.

Yogalates
This blend of Yoga and Pilates will focus on flexibility and building strength in the deep muscles of the abdominal region, the body's core. The practice involves attaining specific postures, with emphasis on correct breathing and meditative mindfulness. All fitness levels welcome. Instructor: Suzanne Roy, Tuesdays and Thursday 9 -10 am.
